Instead of Rapidshare, why not create a private tracker so we can download the files via torrent. It would also keep them much more organized than the way they are now which is threads... we could easily browse the latest releases... it would be so much more efficient, secure, and streamlined.

True but then we'd have to worry about leechers and seeds.

I'm not really worried about leechers in the public areas of the forum. My main concern is leechers in the VIP sections. That's why I've created the XtremeMySpace File Downloader. It's not automated at the moment, and I don't have any upload system in place, so I do it all manually for the time being. On the plus side, though, the files are not presented unless you have proper access (Regular VIP or Exclusive VIP) to download that particular file. So it will make it a little harder for people to share links from the VIP sections. It's not 100% foolproof right now...especially since someone could easily download the file and host it somewhere else. But at least the files aren't on a public file hosting site.

Perhaps you could create a container program that runs the main executable. The container would check if they're a member and allowed to use it. Obviously a user could just go around that and run the main executable, but the majority of people who leech such software or download it (are complete noobs) and would just run the container and figure it doesn't work. It's rude to say, but most people downloading or leeching this type of software won't know how to use it and aren't smart enough to dig around the directories.

lol I say this as someone who doesn't even have access to that section.

It would be hard to automate such a process. I've already coded some things that will help with the issue of leeching.
